Such a great question! The simple answer is; it matters to me. It always has. For over 20 years now we have been using organic ingredients in every aspect of the business. It hasn't been easy, it has it's challenges and it certainly has it's frustrations. Have you noticed a few grey hairs?
I'm worth it and so are you! We will continue to maintain this core value as long as we love doing what we do. Creating great chocolates and reminding you, that you are worth it!
We know how special Bowen Island and British Columbia are and we wanted to share some of the things we love. Carlos made impressions and castings of special things like cedar driftwood, fossils and shells. Then when he couldn't make an impression he created one. Like the little snow angel and the winter boots or the dock, paddle and coil of rope.
One of a kind, unique and special just like Carlos and Cocoa West Chocolatier.
It began with a simple statement: How can we add to the chocolate experience that we offer? Maybe people could sleep over?
The rest is history! For over 15 years The Chocolate Suite - our Boutique Bed & Chocolate has been doing just that. Allowing people to sleep over, not in, but next to the chocolate cafe.

There were so many great choices when it came to deciding where to plant the seeds of Cocoa West. But, Bowen island just seemed to meet all of the criteria on the list and then some. The people, the community, the land, the moat and the energy or the vibe if you will, just made it extra special. Home.
